700 Studio Nights is turning ONE. We’re celebrating 12 months of studio night experiences! It’s been a wonderful year of growth for the event and the 700 Bryden community and we want to celebrate with ALL OF YOU!
Sky Burst
Ongoing Community textile collection
Andrea Myers is be collecting artist textiles from 700 Bryden community, examples include: paint splattered pants, old scraps of canvas (no oil), and related fabrics to donate for a community fabric collage to create a unified surface with the residues and marks from the artistic community of 700 Bryden and neighborhood.
The resulting donations will be cut, sewn and collaged together to create a large scale burst composition that will be exhibited within 700 Bryden and then digitally transformed into large scale printed outdoor banners for the building facade, serving as a wayfinding device to bring visual vibrancy to the exterior of the creative site.
*The artist will be cutting and sewing the donated fabrics and the fabrics will not be returned. Some fabrics may not be used given the thickness or inability to be sewn on a sewing machine-artist will attempt to use pieces from as many donations as possible.
